The honest answer
No repair is completely invisible. A small scar will remain where the damage was. Anyone who promises the chip will vanish is overselling.
What does improve
The repair fills the air inside the break, which is what makes a chip look bright and obvious. Most repairs look much less noticeable afterward, and the glass is bonded so the chip is far less likely to spread.
Fresh chips repair best
A chip that's been filled with dirt and water for months won't clear up as well as one repaired in the first few days. Put clear tape over it until it's fixed.
